World Update!
|
Notes on how things were left and an update of events since the last
game (Issue 7).
|
|
Events
- Because the matching funds to build The KEEP super-prison came from
Congress, the federal government has put PRIMUS into oversight of
the prison.
- Uncle Slam is the temporary administrator of the prison
during it’s redesign.
- Because the matching funds to build The KEEP
super-prison came from Congress, the federal government has put PRIMUS
into oversight of the prison.
- The City Council, who’ve had a shaky
relationship with Audra Blue because of her ownership of the
super-base, backhanded her in a press release by going out of their way to
point out that she was one of the designers of the system and yet she
participated in the breakout.
- Jobs for her security abilities have dried up. A
number of contracts have canceled.
- The city considered pressing charges; Probably as
a political means to seize the base form her, but have not done so… yet.
- The heroes were verbally reprimanded but in order to
save face with the media, none of that was brought up with the press. “Our
hand selected team, the Sentinels, acted in the finest tradition of heroes
like the Champions and all those who fell in the Battle of Detroit, to
prevent dire circumstances.”
- Eldritch, whose manipulation caused the
break-in so that he could get at some foes that were sealed up therein,
has not been seen subsequently except for that brief appearance at the
base.
- The man retrieved from The KEEP, who has been
referred to simply as The Doctor claims that he is a man out of
dimension. His lack of Synchronicity with our time and dimension seem to
be the cause of these issues. His death, in theory, would have caused his
home dimension to cease, and the death of certain individuals there may
have caused ours to cease in turn. Another theory has the two dimensions
joining.
- He is in custody at the base, barring restoration
to his own world.
- The Warden, a follower of the Black Pope,
who believed he could properly bring about the end times by performing the
execution of the Doctor, is still at large.
|
Villains
- Herculan, Lodestone, Fallout, Battery, Krieger , Newton, Blackout, and Sharpshooter who were all
consigned to THE KEEP, were instead transferred to STRONGHOLD, out of
state, pending the redesign of the facility’s security.
- Ogre, Lumina, and Wildchild escaped during the
events at the prison and
are at large.
- Void, Zero, Zed (All of the “Infinitum”, a group of
5 brothers of demonic origin) are all banished back to their home
dimension.
- The Black Pope was slain, though underground worship
of him as the “True Pope” still exists. They contend he’s not dead at
all. His circle of powered assistants, The Black Mass, appear to
be disassembled.
- Monarch (aka Gossamyr) is finally at rest.
- Magdalene (aka Muse) was transformed back
to her good self. She’s gone back to Greece to cope with all that
happened.
- Crucifier (aka Joe Bellamy, aka Coffin Nail
Joe) is still in The Keep, since he’s considered a low security risk now
that he’s on anti-psychotics.

Heroes
- Uncle Slam, representative of PRIMUS, is
currently administering the restructuring of The KEEP. As such he is in
the city and is currently not performing liaison duties to the team. He’s
still reachable though.
- Anthem, daughter of Crucifier (see above), is
still in the city performing her heroics at “street level”, though she’s
sometimes hard to contact due to frequent job changes and relocations.
- Lucretia, local detective, is still ‘around’
but sometimes difficult to locate due to constant changing of cell phones
(She goes through them like pez).
- Bridge, the young teleporter whom the team
encountered during their encounter with the Materna (the disenfranchised
women beneath the city) is still around, unable to locate her “tribe”.
She is in the House of Rain (superbase) performing the duties of porting
the team to emergencies then getting the heck out of the way.
- Dr. Tewelleker (Robert’s PC) is still in the
base, performing scientific study and freeloading. It’s hard to get him
out to patrol, though he does it occasionally.
- Orland (Robert’s PC) is out of contact at the
moment. In an attempt to master his powers he is currently in study with
the individual named Bishop, the representative of Checkmate
(Former soviet super group), of which Orland is presumably “Rook”
status. Because his associates are untrustworthy, Audra Blue has
requested he remain outside the base during the period of his study. He
has occasional contact with Anthem and may sometimes be reached that way.
- “Mr. Bubble” (Paul’s unnamed PC) has joined
the sea-going group, OCEANA, who fight eco-terrorists. Ironic
since he's a one-man oil slick.
- Billy Ray (Paul’s PC) is back in Private
Security. His company, Crown Security, is doing well and protects several
high visibility clients. While it was not his intent, the side effect of
his time with the group was that they gave his bodyguard background some
publicity. He has standing offers to the team if any care to come work
for him for better pay (eg: Retire to NPC status).
- Falcon (John’s PC) is in reserve status,
having gone to Egypt in pursuit of stolen artifacts at the request of the
Egyptian government.
- Duplicity (Joe's PC) has retired. The
duality of his nature, the torture of being pulled in two and then
having to get those two opposed personalities to meld back together
again was too much for him. He has turned in the Focus that gave
him the powers and left the business.
- Rodeo Clown (Joe's PC) is in Rehab.
While he always showed and performed his part, on one occasion during
the past few months he showed up too hammered to be of any real use.
Rather than risk the lives of citizens with his drunken actions, he has
left the group and joined rehab. Currently he is back on the Rodeo
circuit, doing the other thing that he loves... getting gored by bulls.
And occasionally he does side work for the extra money with Crown
Securities (Billy Ray's organization).

Other
- The Materna. The group of women who were once the slaves
of the Intinitum. They vanished and Bridge was unable to locate
their new location (They're nomadic and live off the radar). No sign
of them has been seen since.
- ATLAS. The enormous robot who was beneath the city,
seemingly shoveling dirt and such. Geoff Gardiner recognized it as
something he'd designed. The plans would have been left behind in
his workshop when his time-travel incident occurred that brought him here.
Someone else must have constructed it! Unfortunately, it's nowhere
to be found. In fact, the tunnels where he was working are gone,
filled in as if they were never there.
- The building at 43rd street that was a nexus for geomantic energies is
gone. It was leveled by the city, thus altering the flow of energy
throughout the city.
- The Baseball field that was home of the Lazarus Prophets is restored
and in use.
